Meet the Freeport State Bank team:

Jennifer-100x100.jpgJennifer Klaphake, Freeport Branch
Vice President of Lending

I grew up working on a dairy farm, and after graduating from college I worked in the Marketing department for the John Deere Company. After that, I came to Freeport State Bank, where I have been happily employed for the last ten years. As Vice President of Lending, I handle both commercial and agricultural loans, as well as manage SBA financing. In my free time, I like to run and spend time with my family. I've greatly enjoyed my time at Freeport State Bank, getting to know the people that make our city great. I'm proud to be part of this community, where people are always willing to lend one another a helping hand.

Gary-100x100.jpgGary Schmitz, Freeport Branch
Assistant Vice President of Lending

I recently joined the Freeport State Bank team and have been in the financial industry for 15 years. I grew up in Stearns County and have a strong background in agricultural lending. What I appreciate most about the people I serve is the pride and satisfaction they get from a job well done. They work so hard every day and it is what drives me to do the best I can for them. It's the least I can do. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife and three beautiful children. I am also the Captain and Treasurer of the Avon Fire Department.

Joe-100x100.jpgJoe Fuechtmann, Melrose Branch
Loan Officer

Born and raised in the area, I grew up on a dairy farm North of Melrose and have been in the financial industry now for eight years and with Freeport State Bank for six. I handle all types of loans, from agricultural and commercial to personal and home loans as well. In my down time, I enjoy spending time with my family, sports activities of any kind and exercising. The thing that I appreciate the most about the folks we serve is the work ethic. Everyone works extremely hard to be successful in their endeavors here in this community and it is a quality that I both admire and respect.

Mark-Stenson-100x100.jpgMark Stenson, Greenwald Branch
Loan Officer/Ag Consultant

I grew up on a farm in West Central Minnesota and have spent my entire career in agriculture and ag-related business. Prior to joining Freeport State Bank, I ran a farm operation for 25 years, and I also worked for Cargill, Inc. Most recently, I was an associate with Russell Consulting Group, a division of CHS. I've enjoyed meeting the people in the Melrose area and admire their work ethic and pride in the work they do. In my spare time, I enjoy all lake activities with my family and friends. My wife and I have a busy family with 5 children and 12 grandchildren.
